Keep an eye out man alot of telcos are upgrading rapidly. I keep track of changes at www.dslreports.com in their forum section. Each major telco is represented, and usually if upgrades are coming, theyre announced there before they go live.

My ISP was bought by a US company (liberty global) about 6 months ago - what a great thing.
I went from 2000/200 for $60/month to 6000/600 (fastest available here now) for $75/month.
Previously the fastest was 3000/300 for $115...
According to the new guy in charge their goal is to offer 100mbit connections in the next 5 years or so. No idea how realistic this is though.

in most major cities in Asia a 100MB asyncronous connection is common....to homes....

Switzerland - sorry
Other european countries already offer 20mbit connections cheap, but I think they can list "best effort" speeds. Here they have to advertise the speed they can deliver all the time.
