I just got this the other day, I know it's been out for over a month or so now. $30 for it, I couldn't resist.

I recall Beels' rantings about the battle system. I kind of agree to some extent, but I'm getting used to it. Pair system isn't so bad once you get some skills up.

I'd kill for this to be like 1, though. Too bad, they don't make 'em like they used to.

It's killing time until true disappointment ensues: Xenosaga.

So true.

Suikoden 3 wasn't that bad in my opinion, just kind of short and the battle system blew total a*s.

Xenosaga does own, but compared to Xenogears remains to be seen.

Suikoden 3 sucked, battle system was shit, war system was shit, storyline was complete and utter shit. It's sad to see such a great series ruined.

Suikoden series was never great. Was above average for the first game sure. Great? No.

Your taste in games is odd. You think Wild Arms 1 was great? It's one of the most boring games I've ever played.

Greatness is reserved for Xenogears.

Suikoden II is one of the most satisfying RPGs I've ever played. I rarely care about the plot/characters in any game (think final fantasy), but these games I do.

Suikoden III was entertaining, the music was overall the best of the series and I loved the look of the characters.

Unfortunately it could have been so much more.

Are you kidding Beels? Suikoden 1 and 2 were amazing games, I recently played through 2 again and it still f*****g rules. There is ACTUALLY a moving storyline in the game, not just fighting the same f*****g guy 15 times (Yuber). 2 Felt very militaryish, the war system was MUCH better too, it was kinda like Gemfire for the SNES. And the music was very good. What the f**k does Suikoden 3 have over it? graphics.. that's about it...

Wild Arms 1 is still the best of the 3 Wild Arms titles out.

Suikoden 1 was fun, Suikoden 2 was great, Suikoden 3 would of been great if the battle system was like 1/2.

Xenogears best rpg hands down, glad they pushed it for the states too bad in limited quantity.

Xenosaga is great (been playing jap version), but will probably suffer from bad english voices.

It's all about having the right team for what. Can't just use a fire rune mid-battle unless you're properly positioned. Chris and Geddoe chapters are just insanely simple: 200,000 potch to begin with and and a bad a*s damage house crew/treasure monster loot respectively. Hugo's are just as bland as the rest.

Regardless, I just got through with playing a bit of Suikoden I while my friend was just beating it. Seeing as I know no one with Sukioden II (and the cost to buy over, say eBay, is around $70 dollars or more), I'm not so much in the mood to go through the hassle. Kind of just wanted to play another in the series, especially at $30. Who knows, maybe I can pawn it for as much as its predecessors in a few years.

dude Wild Arms 1 is the best "normal" type of RPG I have ever played. All the best ones were kind of unique though - Tales of Destiny 1-2, Kingdom Hearts, Chrono Trigger, etc.

Mugaaz, wtf?

You get all of the characters in the game in like the first few hours of playing. The plot was hardly interesting and the battles were so f*****g slow.

Kingdom Hearts and Tales of Phantasia/Destiny/Eternia were all better games.

You had all your characters at the beginning of the game in FF1, that doesn't mean it didn't kick a*s... Wild Arms 1 was a great game being one of the first RPG's for the PS1. It's a bit dated now but it was still fun when it came out.

FF1 was decent at best. For its time it was phenomenol but by todays standards even in terms of plot depth the game was shit.

Nothing is more exciting than one of those FF1 battles where there are like 16 monsters and everyone in your party uses an item or casts a spell that hits each monster. It's like a 10 minute round.

Obviously we are talking about during its time. Or else you could say the Britney Spears dance game is better then FF1-FF8 because the graphics are better and there is voice acting.

Plot depth takes text. This was a feature supported by the original NES.
