How do you expect them to balance out melee combat vs. ranged combat, and still maintain a sufficient degree of realism? In the RW, melee is vastly inferior to ranged (meaning firearms) in most if not all situations. In the world of FE, your character using a baseball bat is to be given a fair chance of surviving an encounter with someone wielding a shotgun. How do they do it, without becoming ridicules?

This has been debated over and over again for quite some time. The bottom line is, we can't be sure yet.
