i live about 20 miles south of detroit. Its not that bad, there are SOME area's that look like that, they just went around and got shots of all the bad areas, and completely excluded the nicer areas...its like every big city, it has a ghetto, where gangs hang out, higher crime rates, then there are the nicer areas (mostly business districts), some nice residential areas.

I have been to detroit and that is about 5% of detroit. I could find abandoned buildings like that somewhere in the town i live. Doesnt mean that the town is a total dump. Its actually very nice. Yes some people actually live in places like that in detroit but like i said, most places there are nice.

I lived north of detroit, and driving through there on a detour from the airport was easily one of the scariest parts of my life. Yeah it was through one of the lower quality sections, but it was still bad.
